Pork Meatballs

My son Colby is really a picky eater. I cannot blame him since Royce is also one. Most of the time, Colby prefers only rice and soup as a meal. He seldom eats meat and vegetables. Since I love good food and equally love cooking food for them, of course I wanted to plan dishes that Royce and Colby would happily eat. Planning for food alone for the whole weeks is hard. But thanks to the technology of internet where food bloggers would share their strategies and even recipes for picky kids.

Since Colby is on his learning stage, he enjoys interactive games and I thought learning and eating can be fun with foods. Giniling na Baboy is one of my family’s favorite ground pork dish and a great dish for teaching kids with colors. It has orange for carrots, red and green bell peppers, yellow for corns and potatoes and green peas. But I can’t serve them the same dish all over again. Then, PORK MEATBALL is on the recipe list and is an aid teaching circles in different sizes.


1/2 kilo ground lean pork
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1 medium egg, beaten
1 medium egg, minced
1 clove onion, minced
1 small onion, minced
cooking oil

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Except oil, of course. Hehe. Make sure everything is well-combined.

Wet your hand, then form the mixture into 1/2 inch diameter meatball. Continue making meatballs that same size. Line them on a plate.

Heat a large non-stick pan over medium heat. Pour oil. Fry the meatballs in batches. Brown in all sides, turning them often.

Transfer the fried meatballs on a plate lined with paper towel.

Then serve.
