Considered by many Filipinos, Pork Adobo is the country’s national dish. It is a pork cooked in vinegar, garlic and soy sauce. None I guess in the country who has not served this dish even once and no Filipino who has not tasted this dish yet. Adobo extended its variety from pork to Chicken Adobo, Seafood Adobo, Adobong Kambing (goat meat), Beef Adobo and many more and became known across the world. It is...

Vegetable dishes serve as the other half of the plate or counterweight of a balanced meal. Pairing sweeter vegetables with more full-bodied and robust main courses, mild or slightly seasoned vegetables with intense flavored meats, and sweet-and-sour pickled vegetables as side dish with a mellow grilled, steamed or fried fish or meat. Imagine the texture and taste – a creamy and chewy mashed potatoes with...

As a working mom, I usually prepare and leave bites and nibbles in our home so anytime my husband and my son would be starving, warming the food up a little bit is the only thing they needed to do before a hearty meal.
I have known baking Empanadas since I was in grade school. My mom taught me how to bake them and she was also the one who introduced me to entrepreneurship by selling them to my classmates. I made a...

I know I have already posted a number of cookie recipes here in my blog. But yesterday my co-workers, who checked my blog for the first time, were teasing me for not having tasted any of my baked goodies yet, so, I made the easiest and quickest cookie recipe for them. I made them last night – my preparation time was about 20 minutes and baking time was just only 15 minutes. And the cookies were ready!
I got...

I was craving for some Pancit last night but I didn’t want to tag my two boys as they were enjoying watching some Pixar short films over on youtube.com. So, I took off… not to the nearest Chinese resto, but to the kitchen and decided to make a wonderful hot evening dinner that my family practically inhaled. I used my fave Long Kow Vermicelli which is available in local grocery stores. This goodie was...

Last weekend, I wanted to prepare something that won’t require me of too much energy for a mind-numbing pre-cooking preparations and too complicated kitchen cooking job. So, I thought of getting the slab of pork out of our fridge, thaw, season it, throw it in my turbo broiler machine, turned the knob on to its timer and just wait for the timer off. A simple to do meal makes dining a feast. You will surely...

One of the things I like about working in an educational institution is having a frequent FREE food tasting from students of Hotel and Restaurant Management and Nursing Nutrition class. I always ask for the recipes they make if a meal gets my palate’s interest. I have been enjoying this treat for 5 years now since I got the job in the school. I have collected a good number of recipes from international...

Last Saturday afternoon, I wanted to bring my three-year-old son, Colby, to the Worlds of Fun at CSi City Mall so we could have a break from our everyday routine. But it was raining hard because of the typhoon “Isang” so we both just stayed at home and watched Sesame Street video… until we got bored. So I thought of something to cook that Colby might join in and enjoy. And, we made this really...
